Strawberry Shortcake
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
Ingredients:
Prepare the Biscuit Layer
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and cold butter. Mix until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk gradually until dough forms.
Bake and Cool
Spoon the dough into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden. Allow to cool completely.
Prepare the Strawberries
Wash and slice the strawberries, mixing them with a bit of sugar and allowing them to macerate for 10 minutes.
Assemble the Shortcake
Cut the biscuit layer in half, place half on a plate, layer with strawberries and whipped cream, and top with the other half.
Enjoy!
Serve the shortcake immediately for the best texture. Top with fresh whipped cream and additional strawberries. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
