Classic Tomato Basil Soup

Prepare the tomatoes, onion, and garlic. Chop the basil leaves fresh.

In a pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, cooking until fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.

Adding Tomatoes

Add chopped tomatoes and add enough water to cover them. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes.

Blending and Seasoning

Blend the soup until smooth. Stir in chopped basil and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
